This is a one woman, no frills, adfree blog run by me, Jessica. I am a professor of philosophy and clinical ethicist by trade. I specialize in ethical theory, bioethics and feminist theory. Although I teach an undergraduate Ethics and Fiction course, I am not an expert in literature or literary criticism. You can read more about my work here.
I started this blog in August 2008 to talk about romance novels, which I had recently discovered. I post about 3 times a week, usually on the following topics:
- reviews of romance novels and sometimes other books
- discussions of genre
- philosophy of fiction
- ethical criticism
- vampires
- reflections on blogging and blogland
On most Mondays, I post the Monday Morning Stepback, which offers links of literary and feminist interest from around the web, musings on topics that don’t fit in a blog post (including personal updates), and previews of what is coming up on the blog for the week.
