Soooo much angst and melodrama. I think part of it is that the author squeezed too many tragedies into one story, but I think most comes from the translation to audio. The paperback is 384 pages according to Amazon. There's *no way* that should be stretched out over 8-1/2 hours. Some books are just better in print.
